PPP Frustration

I've been trying to set up a connection to ATT using KPPP. I finally got it to connect but after a few minutes KPPP disconnects and I get a message saying that the remote server sent me "^@". I've been on ATT support lines and they have no clue. Can someone please help?

Have a read of this pppd article and look at the debug options so you can tune the connection.
