I've strange problem, for some time I'm trying to find a solution for my problem and seems I've figured it out but can't solve in the way I wish, maybe someone would help me out?
So here is my problem, I'm still on 33600 modem and use it for my internet connection. All is working well with original kernel(which come with my Debian SID), and from beginning it work pretty well with my new custom kernel, but after some tweaking it stops working, I've play with different options with networking until figured out that it wasn't caused by them but by checking hot-pluggable support in general category of kernel... so once it's enabled I got not working ppp
and once it's disabled everything start to work...
I should say that once I've start a ping or traceroute or try to use browser it look endlessly for URL but nothing happens...
anyonce could provide me with ideas what it could be?
PS I have an Bluetooth and Realcom network card and SkyStar2 DVB card which I didn't make to work now as my priority is PPP, so I can be able to look for answers on the Internet... I'm not sure but my intuition tells me that it could be because of one of this devices which isn't properly identfied when hot-plug is disabled, e.g. network card tells eth0: device doesn't exist(or something like this), so maybe it's some problem with IPs?
I would appreciate if someone could assist me in resolving this problem. Thanks!
PSPS almost forgot that I'm using 2.6.6 right now, of course if it make any difference.
