Postfix unable to deliver mail because user@virtualdomain becomes user@hostname

Hi all,

I have set up a mail server using CentOS, Postfix, Dovecot and JAMM (http://jamm.sourceforge.net/) - following a howto I found on the web. Everything seemed to be working properly until I started trying to send myself messages from my email account at my "real" job.

What seemed to be happening is that where I was sending email to my.user@mydomain, when it reached my server, the recipient address had changed to my.user@emailserverhostname - how weird I thought.

Now, I've managed to fix this issue for users hosted at the same domain that server is part of using a regular expression table for the recipient_canonical configuration parameter. But, I've got virtual domains hosted at the server now, so when I send email to them from my work account the recipient address gets changed from user@virtualdomain to user@emailserverhostname - this is now proving to be very annoying...

Does anybody have any idea why this is occurring? And, what, if anything I can do to stop it? I'm not sure I can do anything - if emailing from some sources works, but others doesn't.

Thanks in advance,

Pete
