I have a postfix e-mail server configured (mail.garyckelvey.com if you need dns information for this)
Anyway e-mail sent to some domains will not get through. I had someone send a message to one of these addresses while I was watching the postfix output. the recipient server said ti bounced the message because of 554 validating recipient. I looked it up online and found that this occurs when the sender cannot be verified. However I could not find any solutions on a postfix system like this using google, forum searches here also came up empty.
If it is a simple configuration problem please help me.
I wasn't able to ping/tracert your server to get its ip. Have you setup a pointer (ptr) record for your domain. Enter your ip address here: http://postmaster.aol.com/tools/rdns.html and make sure it resolves to your domain. A lot mail servers reject mail from other servers without a ptr record. Just a thought.
well, I am going through godaddy.com, I went through all their dns stuff and I am pretty sure it is configured right, but I still have problems. here is the log:
