Port mapping problem
Here is a rough idea of how my home network is configured.
Code:
Internet
|
|
|
|
| 65.xxx.xxx.xxx
Router
| 192.168.254.254
|
-----------------
| |
| |
| |
| |
WinXp Red Hat 7.2
192.168.254.35 192.168.254.221
I have port 80 being mapped to my linux machine. The problem I am having is from the internet the port mapping is working just fine. But if I try to connect to 65.xxx.xxx.xxx from my local network it doesn't seem to take me to my linux webserver. Does anyone know a way to fix this? Any ideas or suggestions?

I guess you have something like this...
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p TCP -s 0/0 --dport 80 -j DNAT --to 192.168.254.221

You say it is forwarding from the internet side ok, but not from the internal machines. This sounds like the forwarding is being done on the input of the internet interface.
can you post your rules so someone may be able to help you out.

Well the router is doing the port forwarding so I have no rules setup.
But I want to be able to see the webpage from both the the XP machine and the Linux machine. It seems that the forwarding is working from the internet but not from my internal network.

Well the webserver is using 192.168.254.221 locally but 65.12.101.96 is my internet IP address. My router is setup so that when you go to 65.12.101.96 on port 80 it takes you to my internal 192.168.254.221, but for some reason when I go to 65.12.101.96 on my local network it doesn't forward me to 192.168.254.221. For anyone outside my network it works fine. Any solution?
