Port forwarding with Apache2

Hey all,

I'm having some problems understanding how to make port forwarding work with Apache. I need to be able to forward from http://SERVER:8080/ to http://SERVER:8080/App/, and so far I haven't been successful with getting this to work.

I've added the following to my httpd.conf and I still receive a blank page when I navigate to http://SERVER:8080/:
Code:
# Use name-based virtual hosting.
Listen SERVERIP:80
NameVirtualHost SERVERIP:8080

<VirtualHost SERVERIP:8080>
  ServerName SERVER.FQDN.COM
#Application Port Forwarding
  ProxyPass        /            http://SERVERNAME:8080/App
  ProxyPassReverse /            http://SERVERNAME:8080/App

</VirtualHost>
I'm quite lost at this point and it seems to me that this is a relatively simple task. I am looking into the documentation on Apache2 now, but for the time being I'm on a bit of a time crunch to get this resolved.

Hi:

I can't tell if there is something not right with the Apache configuration or the router is the problem.

I'm not sure how to tell if port 80 is blocked-

From what I read some folks have been able to get it to work from their localhost but others are not able to get it working from their ip address.

Are you getting any errors?

The Apache Forum might help. That's were I'm looking aside from researching on Google:-

Sorry I don't know more; I'm having the same problem as you.
