port forwarding problem using netgear dg814 and apache

hi,

i've recently set up a rh9 linux box connected to a netgear dg814 modem/router/switch combo. apache seems to work fine when i access is from another computer connected to the switch, ie using //192.168.0.2:8080/. the probelm comes when trying to access it using //my.router.i.p:8080/- i get a "access denied" message when using mozilla. the same happens when trying to access it remotely. i'm sure i have set up port forwarding correctly on the router - i have successfully routed another service to another machine on the network.

any ideas what i might have done wrong? any help will be greatly appreciated - this problem has kept me occupied for the better part of two days!

thanks,
tom
