Port forwarding - Complex

Hello all,

I hope you can help me. This is the question I have.

Basically we have 2 links to the internet here. One is for our normal internet use, and the other is going to be used for mail/web servers. I'll name the two links <NORMAL> and <SERVERS>.

We have two internal subnets ( and

What I want to do, is forward <SERVERS>:25 which is connected to, to Now,'s default gateway is not, but it is Confusing?

I have set up the port forward using IP tables and NAT
(iptables -t nat -I PREROUTING -p tcp -d <SERVER> --dport 25 -j DNAT --to-destination

Should this work? Well it is not. I think i have narrowed it down to not having the gateway Because it will work fine when I use a machine ( which is also on a different interface card on machine I can telnet from to

I am really confusing myself here, i hope you can understand.

What can I do to get this to work?

Thanks in advance,
