Question Port Forwarding

We need help with port forwarding.

Here is what we are using...
Squid Proxy on SUSE 9.1 pro
This machine has two network cards
eth0 is connected to the internet and has a dynamic ip
eth1 is for our internal network 192.168.0.3

We need to forward port 999 to a client computer at 192.168.0.2 which is setup to accept connections on port 999 (this works on our internal network if we hit 192.168.0.2:999)

We need to connect from another location to this client computer and need the proxy(the only connection to the internet) to forward the port.

We have Suse Firewall 2 enabled and we don't want to use any other firewall.

We tried to enter these commands into terminal

$IPTABLES -t nat -A PREROUTING -i 66.31.95.81 -p tcp --dport 999 -j DNAT --to 192.168.0.3

$IPTABLES -A INPUT -i $66.31.95.81 -d 0/0 -p tcp --dport 999 -j ACCEPT

Then we saved with
$iptables-save

After a reboot it does not seem to save what we have done.

Iptables works in cascade. so if before the last rule you make is one telling to drop te package, it never reaches your new rule so its droped.
verify your ruleset and try again.
good luck!
