popa3d 'Connection refused; for 1 machine only

This is a newly installed Slackware 10.1 box. I had set up mail to work for anyone. After installing, most of my setup was done using Webmin.

I also installed PortSentry and LogCheck. I'm not experienced with them, but my friend who knows slack uses it, so I figured I'd try it.

I also installed an application to be able to update my DNS service when my WAN address on my linksys router changes. linksysmon Not sure if anyone's heard of it or not. It also needs an application called ez-ipupdate, which uses SMTP somehow.

To make a long story longer, I can no longer get email using Thunderbird from my local PC. I can get to it from a web interface (mail2web.com), and other individuals who have email addresses on the box don't have any problems. Their pc's are outside the internal network.

ALSO, I can SSH to the box from my PC so it's almost a single port/app issue for just my PC.

I get the following message:
Code:

popa3d[5847]: refused connect from 192.168.x.x (192.168.x.x)
I believe one of the apps made an entry into my hosts.deny. I don't know the exact message because I remvoed it after I was having problems. Went something like
Code:

ALL: 192.168.x.y
where 192.160.x.y is my router's internal address.

Now it may be bad that I removed that, but I had no idea what it was doing (newb issue there) and thought anything DENY on my local side was bad.

Right now my hosts.allow and hosts.deny files are empty. Do I need to restart something to pick up the new files? Is that where my problem could be?

Anyone know what's going on or where to look?
