Plug status of eth0 undetected

I have recently converted to mandrake 10.
System installation went fine exept for the network.
During boot up, my system fails to bring up my eth0 interface. On inspecting syslog,it shows ifplugd-plug status for eth0 undetected. However,if I configure a new connection using same options and restart network, it works fine. But rebooting again it gives the same problem. Please help

I had the same problem and was told to go into system configuration/network/internet connection and disable 'network hotplugging'. I rebooted my system and eth0 passed the boot.
