Please - Need help with my router (combined with powerline)
Hello!
I´ve a (big) Problem with my Network (i don´t know where the Problem actually is...) There are: one DSL-Modem one Router (Allnet 1294B) 3 PC´s (with DHCP) everything works fine - no problem so long!!! But i want to connect 1PC 2 floors below my actual room... so i bought two Powerlineadapter... (ALLNET 1682 link: http://www.allnet.de/cgi-php/produkt...L1682&katnr=21 ) sorry but this is german only - english Information about HOMEPLUG is there: http://www.homeplug.org/faq i have no Problems at all to connect directly two PC´s with these HOMEPLUG devices together... also everything works fine! but when i want to connect every pc to its own port on the router then i come into trouble... no connection can be established even all other PC´s on the router can´t be accessed (they get no IP-Adress...) Perhaps an important information: When a pc is connected to this device (Ethernetcard of PC1 -> homeplug1 -> powerline <- homeplug2 <- ethernet of PC2) then the networkcard operates only at 10 MBit halfduplex) Can anybody help me??? Thank you alot for your ideas or suggestions !!! PS: I´m interested if you use HOMEPLUG yourself or not (Thanks) many greetings, Liu |
does your router support 10/100 connections?
If it is / has been configurd to accept only 100mb connections and your PowerLine Ethernet uses 10mb, things will not work. |
Hello ppuru,
thanx for your replay! Yes this router can automatically recognize 10/100 MBit cards.... it can also recognize a "normal" patch cabel or a crossover cabel you can connect everything... ?????? :-( |
