Please - Need help with my router (combined with powerline)

Hello!

I´ve a (big) Problem with my Network (i don´t know where the Problem actually is...)

There are:
one DSL-Modem
one Router (Allnet 1294B)
3 PC´s (with DHCP)

everything works fine - no problem so long!!!

But i want to connect 1PC 2 floors below my actual room...
so i bought two Powerlineadapter... (ALLNET 1682 link: http://www.allnet.de/cgi-php/produkt...L1682&katnr=21 )
sorry but this is german only - english Information about HOMEPLUG is there: http://www.homeplug.org/faq

i have no Problems at all to connect directly two PC´s with these HOMEPLUG devices together... also everything works fine!

but when i want to connect every pc to its own port on the router then i come into trouble...
no connection can be established even all other PC´s on the router can´t be accessed (they get no IP-Adress...)

Perhaps an important information: When a pc is connected to this device (Ethernetcard of PC1 -> homeplug1 -> powerline <- homeplug2 <- ethernet of PC2) then the networkcard operates only at 10 MBit halfduplex)

Can anybody help me???

Thank you alot for your ideas or suggestions !!!

PS: I´m interested if you use HOMEPLUG yourself or not (Thanks)

many greetings,
Liu

does your router support 10/100 connections?

If it is / has been configurd to accept only 100mb connections and your PowerLine Ethernet uses 10mb, things will not work.

Hello ppuru,

thanx for your replay!

Yes this router can automatically recognize 10/100 MBit cards....
it can also recognize a "normal" patch cabel or a crossover cabel you can connect everything...
