please confirm NAT question.
My server has two nics
Eth0 = ISP connection Eth1 = internal DHCP to home network (192.168.1.1) Since another computer connected via dhcp got to the Internet, Then NAT must be working correctly right? If I am flawed in this thinking, can you tell me how to make sure that NAT is working. Thank you all tremedously, I now have the following working because of your help: SAMBA IPTABLES (assuming the above is correct) ROUTING DHCP |
If there is no physical connection between the 2 ethernet cards other than the inside of the server then yes NAT is working.

IPTABLES
I downloaded an IPTABLES script that was well documented, then edited the areas which allow different services. My edited firewall script is at aldebaran.tekinteractive.net/~acarnahan/www/files/my_firewall.sh
You'll have to change the ETH0 and Eth1 to your modem and network card, but like I said it is well documented. Hope it helps |
