PKO error when the ping command executed

Hi,

I am trying to configure ethernet for the board-AMC 9210, it has linux booted in it. Now i execute the following commands
(after loading the module for ethernet driver)
ifconfig eth0 up
ifconfig eth0 10.60.8.99
ping 10.60.8.90

if ping command is executed the board linux continuously prints PKO: A pointer of data size=0

this doesnt stop even with Ctrl C,D,Z ...
even if pinging is done from some other machine to 10.60.8.99 this error comes.

Can anyone suggest the possible prob that is occuring and solutions for the same
