PIX firewall MAC address

Does anyone know if the MAC address of a Cisco PIX 500 series firewall can be changed? I am running into conflicts setting up a couple of them for failover and apparently, the way to get them fixed and get all computers that pass through the firewall, to connect just fine.

Exactly, the problem is that i cannot force failover cause the other pix, the one that is up and running, is not configured nor upgraded. So, what i need to do is find the way to copy the working pixs mac address to the upgraded one, in a manner that the computers on all networks do not notice the swap (of course, we noticed that linux boxes do not have this problem).

The other thing is i cannot leave the firewall disconnected while i update it, cause i cannot leave no internet access, i guess all network admins know that we are responsible for keeping the net working no matter what

Let me know if i am not explaining myself correctly.
