I was reading about a tool named piped viewer and have seen many examples on how to use it but cannot figure out how to use it for my purpose. I have an application that we use at my place of employment for audits of vulnerabilities. I have been ask to create statistics on how much bandwidth these probes are using so my company will have an idea and can tweak it if needed. So an example probe I would use it in this way to find open shares on targets:
Code:
bin/smb.sloth -v -u testadmin -p testadmin 10.7.0.14
and you will see the results when it scans the target. How could I use "PV" to show me the speed/usage of this probe to begin gathering statistics. I have tried:
Code:
pv `bin/smb.sloth -v -u testadmin -p testadmin 10.7.0.14`
bin/smb.sloth -v -u testadmin -p testadmin 10.7.0.14 | pv
I basically pulled all of what I could from a simple google search but cannot find specifically how to use "PV" for what I am trying to do:
