ping virtual ips both v4 and v6


I would like to understand about the responsibility and flow in responding to ping requests to set of virtual addresses?

How the matching the target ip is done for a given request?

Is the method same in both ip4 and ip6?

What's your meaning, virtual address, the IP address on VLAN interface?
