Ping result analysis

Hi all,

My PING test often can't reach the destination. Usually I could get two
error message. One is "request time out", and the other is "Destination host
unreachable".
Would you please give me some information about the meaning of these two
error message?
Any help will be appreciated.

Zuohong

Sorry to be so simple-answered, but your first response means that the ping request took too long (timed out) before being answered. The other means, simply, that the ping request could not find (or could not get to) your target.

Perhaps posting the entire result of a ping command (maybe limited to 4 pings) would garner more help

Hi,

I'm sorry, it's clear that I didn't explain my meaning definitely.
Actually, what I wanna know is what's the difference between these two error messages. I'm not asking a specific case.
Thank you in advance.
