In order to come to the phpmyAdmin in the way you described, phpadmin should be installed in your webroot directory.
Check /etc/apache/httpd.conf (or /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf) or similar file and check what your webroot directory is. The way you are trying to acces this, is strange to me also. Not that I have ever used PhpMyAdmin, but the syntax of the address is odd to me. Usually it's name_of_the_program/admin/index.php in your case, you wrote admin/name_of_the_program/index.php Are you sure this is the case. The other thing is to locate your webroot directory and locate the admin directory under phpmyadmin and locate the index.php in the admin directory. And change the address you are trying to reach accordingly. |
I am almost certain that by default on my laptop it is localhost/phpmyadmin

ok, i am not sure that it is a phpmyadmin problem.
i have some websites folder in the folder var/www.html when i enter in the address bar in my browser for example : http;//localhost/mywebsite1/index.html i can display the page. now if i write http;//localhost/mywebsite1/forum/list.php it does not work. it wanst to download the file or ask me with which application to open it instead of displkaying it. Could it be that my apache configuration is wrong. ? |
Are your file permissions set correctly.
|
Ofcourse your apache configuration is wrong. How did you install PHP?
Check the apache.conf file, it should have a module include in the end. Including PHP module for operations with PHP files. |
Maybe I should read the post before replying. Grrrr
