Unhappy PHP4 installation on SUSE 7.2

I did install PHP, Perl and Apache on a SUSE 7.2 distribution.
I did set up a cgi-bin directory, where a perl script is running perfectly well.

If I try to run a PHP script, I get the error message (error.log):
"Premature end of script headers"

This PHP script is running on a Microsoft Internet Server and as well on a UNIX server of a hosting provider.

If I restart the Apache server with the shell command "rcapache restart", it shows a successful start of Apache running Perl and PHP.

Does anybody know, what could be the reason for this peculiar behaviour?

Thanks

Luzius
