Permissions for Samba Access

Hi, Yet another Samba problem,

I have samba shares & printers working. Everything is fine until "later". This sounds strange but I think it has something to do with the directory & file permissions on the linux box.

What is Happening...

I have created a directory /home/public & assigned persmisson rwxr-xr-x. Everything works locally & on the samba clients. Sometime later the public share becomes unusable. When I look the permissions on /home/public have become rwx------.

Why is this being changed? Is it something I have configured, or something to do with the /home area? Any clues would be appreciated.

Barry

look in your samba configuration file for the default permissions masks that are used. I'm pretty sure that in a new samba configuration they are 700 for directories and 700 for new files.
