pdbedit does not exist in redhat

It's odd but redhat 9 has a man page for pdbedit (part of the samba suite) but when I try and actually use the command, it's a no go. ("bash: pdbedit: command not found") Any one got a clue why this is and how to fix it?

I ask because I'm trying to set up a domain controller for a windows network, and while I've got that working, when I try to add a computer (connect to the domain) it says that the user I try and use does not have access. So I'm figuring it's an access rights problem. But I could be wrong (if anyone has any other guesses it'd be great) .

Thanks

Any resolution to this problem?

I ran into the same thing.

A RedHat Linux 9 SMB PDC server.

Everything is OK EXCEPT I cannot get machines to join the domain because the "pdbedit" program is missing.

I tried un-installing and re-installing Samba with no luck.

There is a man page for pdbedit but no program.

Apparently this is a "Pascal Data Base Editor".
