PCI card not detected on Fedora Core 1
Hello. I was planning to set up a network on my Fedora so I can get away from this winblows XP. Unfortunatly, my PCI card is not on the adapter or hardware list in the network setup!!! I have a built-on PCI card, equipped on an MSI mobo. The instruction book says nothing about what type of PCI card it is. Please help me install my network...It would be very much appreciated!!!
Thanks so much, Robin |
the first thing would be to check that your card is supported, so it works...and, what driver you perhaps need in the kernel for it to work. I suggest you do some google'ing with the name of the card and perhaps "linux" added to the search, to see if it's supported or if it needs something special.
my card worked just fine and was detected right away when I enabled a certain module in my kernel config.. |
THANK U SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!! I did exactly as you said, Found the drivers for linux, put it on disk (Way smaller than the windows instalation packages), and mounted the disk. Installed itself PERFECTLY! Easier than I thought! Thanks soooooo much agaiN!! I can now get away from this winblows!
Thanks 1,000,000, Robin |
