omgs thanks for your response! i was hoping for some reply. about the shares being mounted you are right they are mounted but are not pendrives. They are internal drives but for some reason i had to mount it. i have a 500gb drive as the home drive. Then i have two 2TB drives and one 1TB drive. 4 internal drives in the machine. For some reason i have to mount the other 3 drives. i dont know if thats how linux works. normally in pc if i add another internal drive i can see it automatically in "my computers".

what do you mean by "get rid off usershare stuff". folders of username? Im going to try security = user and give it a shot and will let you know. man smb.conf i just need to type that in the terminal right?

just a fyi, security=user didnt work . thinking of buying a samba server book or something.
