Patch-o-Matic TTL Patch

Hello.

I am trying to enable changing of TTL in a packet by using the TTL patch from Harald Welte in Patch-o-Matic. So I ran ./runme extra and it requested the path to the kernel source directrory and the iptables source directory. For the kernel directory I typed /lib/modules/2.6.10-1.741_FC3/build and for the iptables source directory I typed /usr/src/redhat/SOURCES/iptables-1.2.11. Then I chose to apply only the TTL patch, for the others I answered NO. I did cp /boot/config-2.6.10-1.741_FC3 /lib/modules/2.6.10-1.741_FC3/build/.config and then I ran make menuconfig. In the menu I chose module support of the specified patch and saved the configuration file. Now I ran make modules and got the following output:

[root@fedora-heidelberg build]# make modules
CHK include/linux/version.h
SPLIT include/linux/autoconf.h -> include/config/*
CHK include/asm-i386/asm_offsets.h
HOSTCC scripts/genksyms/genksyms.o
HOSTCC scripts/genksyms/lex.o
HOSTCC scripts/genksyms/parse.o
HOSTLD scripts/genksyms/genksyms
CC scripts/mod/empty.o
MKELF scripts/mod/elfconfig.h
HOSTCC scripts/mod/file2alias.o
HOSTCC scripts/mod/modpost.o
HOSTCC scripts/mod/sumversion.o
HOSTLD scripts/mod/modpost
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `arch/i386/kernel/msr.c', needed by `arch/i386/kernel/msr.o'. Stop.

Could someone help me determine what is wrong? Thank's in advance.

P.S. Sorry for posting this thread twice but I didn't get any help in the Fedora forum.

You gotta make sure you use the same config file that your original FC-3 sources were built with or you will find a lot of conflicting selections.
Also be sure that your kernel sources are patched the same as your current kernel.. otherwise you won't be able to use the same kernel version number and only make the modules..

In short, you may need to make a new kernel version by editing Makefile and doing an entire kernel build.
