"Parameter is incorrect" accessing samba from win

I am running FC4 with samba and I can access all the win computers in our network (several winxp and 2 win2k3 boxes) just fine, and I can access the FC box from windows if I go: \\192.168.1.10\ it will show me the shares, but if I go: \\linuxbox windows pops up saying "Widnows could not log you in. The parameter is incorrect", that is when security is set to share, if its set as user then it comes up with a logon dialog, but no usernames work (it adds the current computer name to the front so I did the same for the sambba user, but it didnt work) Any help would be aprreciated, I know theres a lot of threads about samba and I've searched around but couldn't find one like my problem.
