Package collusions on the private net

Ok i got a server with 2 nics (eth0 -> cablemodem, eth1 -> private net)
I have many package collusions on my private network. (the network is useable)
Nic on the workstation eepro100/10
Nic on the server 3com 509 10 mbit
I use a crossover cable.
Someone told me to set half duplex but i dont know how to do that is there any parameter i have to use with the insmod?

thanks for your help, hope someone can show me how to solve this problem...at least how to set the nics to half duplex

If you are using a single cross over cable then you can't get a collision as you are sending and recieving on a different set of conductors within the cross over cable!! Hence the half-duplex suggestion wont help.

If I were you I'd double check that both cards are running at 10Mb (hopefully the drivers will tell you this at starup, if not you might get away with looking at you link lights on the NICs if you have them, or try to find a config tool to hard-set the 10/100Mb card to 10Mb), if they are both 10mb then the next thing I'd look at would be the software config of your network on both machines, double check that they have correct IP addresses and netmasks on the internel network.
