Ovirt VMs no route to host

I have fedora 20 installed with ovirt. Ive built two VMs. one i want to use as a DNS server and they other as a web server. I can ssh and ping between the two VMs but I get the message "no route to host" when i netcat to ports 53 and 80. I have iptables turn off and selinux disabled. Also the VMs are on the same VLAN, have the same gateway and netmask. I am lost at this point any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.
