OSPF problem between Quagga and MikrotikOS
 

I hope it's the place where I can get some answers.
I've got a network with about 10 routers and most of them are MicroTik
OSs and also there's two RedHat Linux routers. I have mission to set
up OSPF routing between all the routers. There's no problems with
connecting MT-MT with OSPF session. However when I try to establish a
session between Linux /quagga and MT , the quagga router can't see
the MT, but from the MT I can see the linux router as an neighbour
(staing all the time in "Init" mode).

At first I thought that there was problem in the hello and dead
intervals, but no, they are same on both routers. A tolked with one
sys admin (more experienced than me) and he has the same problem with
OSPF and MT-Linux linking.

Do you have an idea how I can fix it ?

I think it's first time of posting here and to have no replies. It's a kind of piti when I can' answers neither here , neither somewhere else, but I'll keep going and searching for the answer and info.

Am I acking something too difficult?
Am I acking on the wrong place?

It is not that you are asking something difficult or complicated, it is just that there was no one who had the same situation, or knows more about quagga routing. I had a bad zebra (quagga) experience on Solaris with RIP, it didn't work that well. On the other hand, we don't know specifics of your setup, are all the routers in the same area? What about atonomous system, etc. I would suggest to head over to cisco.com and read up on OSPF as much as you can, and try to set it up using their recommendations.

You need the folowing things to match for a fulll adjacency -

network, subnet mask, hello and dead timers, area type, authentication type authentication password, interface mtu.

Having said that if you are not seeing the MT from the Zebra router at all it is likely you have a misconfig on your zebra. As I recall you need a base zebra config and an ospf config, as the deamons run separately, and certain info must macth correctly. Its been a few months since I did this but as they are very similar to cisco configs I should be able to spot any obvious config cock-ups, give me the configs and I'll cast an eye over them.

My experiences with Zebra have been good so far, and customers are SO impressed when you BGP peer to your laptop!
