OpenVPN / TUN

ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)

Running kernel 3.15.4, verified IP Tunneling is enabled (*) built-in, not as a module, but I've heard this is the wrong driver. I need TUN/TAP driver support, but cannot find it in the menuconfig...

when running openvpn I get the following error:

ERROR: Cannot open TUN/TAP dev /dev/net/tun: No such file or directory (errno=2)

Can anyone tell me the correct kernel driver to enable?

Answer:

Either edit /usr/src/linux/.config: CONFIG_TUN=Y (from 'CONFIG_TUN is not set')

OR

/usr/src/linux -> make menuconfig -> use the '/' key to search for TUN -> look at the help file and see where the driver is located... it was located in a completely different section.

Yeah you may easily set-up through the config panel and after that use the '/' key to look for for TUN -> look at the help computer file and look up for the driver file. Hope that might works
