Okay well my goal is to completely optimize my VPN tunnel connection to the max.
Here is my current setup:
My desktop client running Backtrack 5 distro
Desktop > wlan
OpenVPN client/server using the following "tweaks" to optimize speed:
Quote:
DNS 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4
cipher none
no-replay
no-iv
socket-flags TCP_NODELAY
nice -20
daemon VPN

I am routing packets on client side from eth1 (My gaming console) to tun0 (OpenVPN client)
The server that the VPN daemon is on is located in Chicago w/ 100Mbps speed.
I was thinking of either switching the VPN to udp since my gaming console uses UDP packets.
I was also considering using fast-io option if I switched the VPN server to UDP since that seems to decrease cpu usage.
My main question is:
What can I do client side or server side with hardware or software to improve this? I just want the most stable optimized connection, don't really care about security due to the sole purpose of this is for gaming.
