I'm currently subscribed to a VPN services, and I'm using it via OpenVPN on Windows GUI. And I got the configuration settings from the provider.
Right now, I wanted to set up a OpenVPN client my Fedora linux PC, and currently I can only SSH [putty] remote to the Fedora linux pc as I'm not physically there.
Now the questions are,
- I just install OpenVPN client via "yum update openvpn" via ssh, and copy over the keys, cert and configuration[*.ovpn] to /etc/openvpn ?
- How to makesure it will automatically starts the connection when I've started the Fedora Linux?
- Will it causes some problem when I try to connect to the fedora using ssh?
Distribution: Ubuntu based stuff for the most part

Rep:
This will start openvpn when the system boots;
chkconfig openvpn
You should have no problems with ssh while OpenVPN is running, but getting it connect automatically might be an issue. Do you have to supply a password to connect? If not that makes it easier, otherwise you have the problem of passing the password to login.
No, I don't have to supply any passwords to get connected to the vpn service.
Thanks for the reply.
Edit:
Also, another question.
I currently have another fedora 11 installed on my laptop, and I'm currently using openvpn with network-manager installed. And I'm just imported the settings [*.ovpn] from my vpn service and all the ca and keys will be imported as well.
But when I try to connect, it will ends up with timed out error, but it does fine and connected properly when I'm using Windows based openvpn GUI.
I've disabled the SELinux and firewall on Fedora, but still no avail.
