Opensuse 11.2 > Squid/Dansguardian - proxy forward
Greetings everyone, it's been a while. I'm getting to use linux more in my environment so I'm definitely happy about that.
Here's my setup:
Opensuse 11.2 / Squid 2.7 / Dansguardian 2.10 - working 90%
My problem: I setup a squid box with dansguardian to filter my users internet content. It's working great using my gateway and doing it's job properly. What I need to be able to do though is forward the traffic requests to another non squid proxy server.
What I have done:
I have used ifup to configure proxy connections to go to my internet proxy but it the server doesn't seem to use it. If I browse the internet it is still using the gateway ip instead of the proxy settings.
I've tried using the cache_peer proxyserver parent 8080 0 proxy-only no-query squid configuration line but that doesn't work either.
Question:
What can I do? I cannot set the device up as transparent proxy because I have non internet requests going through it, nor can I set it up as router because of my inherited convoluted network setup and lack of layer 3 control.
