Unhappy openSUSE 10.3 and internet problem

Hello everybody,

I have just installed openSUSE 10.3 (and its great!). I've got a problem tough. After about approximately every 3 minutes my internet connection times out and even causes the other computer on the LAN to time out. When the connection is not working Kopete and XChat still work. I would like to solve this problem as it is frustrating and annoying for me and other people.

Please be aware that I'm an average/newbie linux user.

Thank you in advanced.

Here is some info:
- I'm on a router
- 2 computers are connected to the router (one with Vista Home Premium and the other WinXP/openSUSE10.3)
- Problem arises when on linux
- No one is downloading anything when this happens.

You start your Linux box - then ever 3 minutes a timeout occurs for both systems in your LAN (firefox times out?, i.e. the HTTP connection?) but kopete and xchat works still fine?

This might be a problem because ipv6 is enabled per default in OpenSuSE 10.3. In any case I suggest to disable ipv6 in your OS and FF.

It doesn't make difference at all.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks.
