Only some wireless networks detected on Ubuntu 16.04

I am facing an issue with my wireless connections. Only some wifi networks are being listed but not all. I am not able to connect to my wireless connection as its not listed.

The output to
Code:
lspci -nn | grep 0280
is:

Quote:
07:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM43142 802.11b/g/n [14e4:4365] (rev 01)
I performed an
Code:
iw reg set IN
to set it to India.

I installed the right driver 'bcmwl-kernel-source' as mentioned in the below link. Only when I installed that driver I was able to find some wireless networks but unfortunately not mine.

Is there something I am missing? How can I get my wireless connection listed? Please help.

Hi...

Although some will not apply, here is a basic list to go through first. Let us know if one of these resolves your issue.

Regards...

Frequency or channel issue??? If you get one then we might assume that the wireless nic works to some extent.

If you have a modern mobile phone then you might consider installing one of the scanners that tell a bit more about what the channels out there are running and any possible interference. Some routers may do that too, dd-wrt should have it.

Hello All, Thank you for all the help. I modified my channel below 11 (Currently it was 12 and apparently 11-14 channels are disabled in this driver) and its working fine now.

11-14 is normally not used in North America isn't it? One of the reasons FCC wants to ban stuff like DD-WRT is that it allows one to bypass some of the OEM restrictions.
