Only 4065 users in my chat server ???
 

Hi .... I'm having a problem with my chat type server whereby it will not hold more than 4065 users.

The server is a remote server in a data farm and I am running Slackware 10.

I have run the server software on FreeBSD without any problems relating to user limits. I've had to change to Slackware because of FreeBSD locking up the server without warning.

Anyway ..... for some reason when I get to 4065 users on my server it starts closing the connections for anyone else that tries to connect.

It looks like the server is sending a FIN/ACK instead of a final ACK when setting up the connection to transfer data.

When I started for the first time I had a 1024 user limit and that problem was cured by the command "ulimit -n 4096" but this fix has not been successfull a second time which leads me to believe there is a second problem affecting my server.

I only have a basic install and am running the server via SSH and not via a GUI.

Any ideas fellas ???? n00b in need of help.
