Okay, here's the deal. . .
the system sees the card and I can load the module. on startup, howvere, it still says {FAILED} because it delays the activation. Why is this happening? There don't appear to be any conflicts in the system. . .

Ah-right... a problem with 'the card' - a common problem in linux...
Which card??????!!!!!?!?!?!?!? Network? Video? Sound? ISDN TA? Card containing alien technology to take over the world (mine works find BTW)?
Also what model of card, and what error messages do you get (if any).
cheers!

Yeah I guess maybe it should've. Since I've used the forum all of TWICE it seems like maybe you could've let it go and not been a pest about such trivial things. I'm just a new user trying to get some help, not pointless nitpicking about my posting habits. I'd appreciate it if you'd refrain from that type of asinine criticism.

I'm not trying to criticise, just help otherwise I wouldn't spend so much time answering people's questions on this forum would I!?... You'll get more answers if others can follow the thread, and in this case they clearly can't, as you've only had one (very good) response I'd say you need as many people to understand your problem as you can get.
I'll be sure to steer clear of you posts in the future. Incase anyone is interested the original post is at http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...?threadid=3798
