Often Ethernet Link Fails in Linux

Hi All,

I'm using Linux kernel version 2.4.7-10.

And I have installed Realtek 8139 PCI Ethernet Card. Linux detected the card and i configured the card. It worked fine. But for some reason, often ethernet card fails to receive any data. If i ping it shows "Destination Host Un Reachable". After sometimes it starts to work normally. But I'm sure, there is not routing or network configuration issues. In the Network monitor, it seems the ethernet card is transmitting and not receiving.
And for ur info, i have VGA Card installed in my system.

can any one help me pls.........

Look into /var/log/messages file. It's main system log. Do you have messages that may be related to the problem?
