Odd problem

Having an odd home network problem:

Currently my linux box can connect to my wireless network and access the internet, yes the DHCP is assigned.. ip addressed assigned also.. works beautifuly no problems.. i can ping everything in the network and out of the the LAN with no problem

Now here's the odd problem I'm having, my other computer that i striclty run windows xp on cannot browse the web.. like web browsers can't even connect to the router!! But oddly enough in windows XP i can run an ipconfig /all .. and everything looks fine... dhcp assigned.. ip address assigned.. everything looks beautiful there.. and I have on the router setup mac filtering but i'ved checked all the settings on the router and everythinig is up to par and should be working as it did before.. I still can't connect to the net though.. but my chat client (Trillian) can even connect to the net!!!

on the windows machine i've tried ipconfig /release .. ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew .. and I get an answer from my router an and IP address is assigned yadda yadda.. still no net!! The router also pings correclty on the windows xp machine...

Any help?

Well this is LinuxQuestions.org for answering Linux questions. You seem to have a windows problem. Some of the same troubleshooting techniques apply.

Is there a firewall in the way? Do you have the firewall configed right? Are you connected directly to the router or sharing connection from a Linux box? You also might try another port on the router, they go bad sometimes. You might try checking your ethernet cable. Make sure that your browsers are set to be Online. IE can be set for Offline.
