Odd FTP problem
Here's an odd problem I'd like help with.
My ProFTP server was working fine until a few weeks ago. Then all of a sudden it started erroring out whenever you use a GUI to list the directories. You can FTP in and list fine if you specify the LAN ip 192.168.x.x but if you specify the internet IP it authenticates and then errors out while trying to list the directories.
However, you can FTP in via the internet from a shell or command prompt and list the directories in command line with no problems. Why would this happen? I've tried every setting on the clients for windows, UNIX, and MAC ftp clients and all of them error out while trying to list. But again, if you connect via command line all is fine....

Solved
Ok, solved the problem. After reviewing the client logs I noticed that when the client runs in passive mode it wasn't sending the correct IP address and thus the bind wasn't able to complete. After unchecking 'use passive mode' the PORT command executed properly, displayed the correct local/client IP and the connection was established.
