Obtaining static IP while in DHCP
Hi guys,
My interface is set to DHCP -
# cat /etc/network/interfaces
# Configure Loopback
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
up route add -net 224.0.0.0 netmask 240.0.0.0 eth0
Is there a way to configure Linux to use a static IP incase no dhcp server is found? (and continue searching for a dhcp server every timeout inorder to get back to "dhcp mode" when a suited server is found)
I beleive that this is what Windows does.
Thanks!
Hadar
