ntop install help


I just compiled and installed ntop, when i go to run ntop as root i get an error saying :

Sat Apr 24 02:29:54 2004 2. Make sure that the use you specified can write in the target directory
Is there any good sites that shows how to configure ntop or can someone help me setup ntop so i can get it running correctly? i cant seem to find any good documentation on ntop to set it up.

AFAIK there are two things that cause this error:
1) ntop is already running as stated - check with:
ps -ef | grep ntop
2) The permissions on /usr/local/var/ntop/* are not readable/writeable by "nobody":
chown -R nobody /usr/local/var/ntop
chmod -R o+rw /usr/local/var/ntop

Thanks ill have to check it out, i really want to get ntop running so i can monitor my network and keep track of what is using what kind of bandwidth.
