Question "No worthy mechs found" setting up cyrus-imapd

Hi,

Has anyone setup sendmail with cyrus-imapd and saslauthd? I'm following the RHAT instructions on http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_79_5254.shtm by at the step where I run cyradm I receive and error.
Results are listed below.

Thanks,
TimJowers

Attempt to login to cyrus-imapd to setup accounts.
[root@serviza mail]# cyradm --user cyrus serviza.com
IMAP Password:
Login failed: generic failure at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.5/i386-linux-thread-multi/Cyrus/IMAP/Admin.pm line 118
cyradm: cannot authenticate to server with as cyrus

See what error messages were logged:
[root@serviza mail]# tail /var/log/messages
Aug 7 16:25:10 serviza imap[5311]: cannot connect to saslauthd server: No such file or directory
Aug 7 16:28:15 serviza saslpasswd: PLAIN: set secret for cyrus

Aug 7 16:52:52 serviza perl: No worthy mechs found
Aug 7 16:52:57 serviza imap[5324]: cannot connect to saslauthd server: No such file or directory

Verify the service is indeed running:
[root@serviza mail]# service saslauthd status
saslauthd (pid 5345 5342 5341 5340 5339) is running...

Verify the username is indeed in the list:
[root@serviza mail]# sasldblistusers
user: cyrus realm: localhost mech: PLAIN
user: cyrus realm: localhost mech: CRAM-MD5
user: cyrus realm: localhost mech: DIGEST-MD5
user: cyrus realm: serviza.com mech: DIGEST-MD5
user: testuser realm: serviza.com mech: DIGEST-MD5
user: cyrus realm: serviza.com mech: CRAM-MD5
user: testuser realm: serviza.com mech: CRAM-MD5
user: cyrus realm: serviza.com mech: PLAIN
user: testuser realm: serviza.com mech: PLAIN
[root@serviza mail]#

Here is /etc/imapd.conf
configdirectory: /var/lib/imap
partition-default: /var/spool/imap
admins: cyrus
sievedir: /var/lib/imap/sieve
sendmail: /usr/sbin/sendmail
hashimapspool: true
sasl_pwcheck_method: saslauthd
sasl_mech_list: PLAIN
tls_cert_file: /usr/share/ssl/certs/cyrus-imapd.pem
tls_key_file: /usr/share/ssl/certs/cyrus-imapd.pem
tls_ca_file: /usr/share/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt
~

I do not have lines in here about the sasl_mysql... but the sasl commands to seem to add users and be able to list them. I do not see any sasl db in my mysql server.
