No route to host (only when ftp'ing)

Hello everyone. On my local network I have two linux-machines. Networking seems to be working well on both, and they can ping/ssh eachother fine. But when I try to access the ftp located at 192.168.1.2, the connection is made, but when i try to retrieve a directory-listing, it says "No route to host" and disconnects. Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?

We're talking about 2 machines on the same network 192.168.1.x, right?

What is the FTP server you are using?

Yes, 192.168.1.2 and 192.168.1.138. The ftpserver is ProFTPD, and all the other machines on the network connects to it just fine. The problemmachine also connects to it just great from Windows XP, so it has to be some weird little config-error in linux.

Sorry I didn't get back more quickly.

Are you using any type of firewall that would be blocking ports on your system that is dual booting?

Are you logging in as a user or just using annonymous authentication?
