No route to host

I am not very strong with Linux (yet!) so this might look like an easy one for the strong folks out there. I have two computers (each, a server of its own) that I'm trying to have talk to each other back and forth. Computer A can rlogin to Computer B, but computer B can not rlogin to Computer A. When I try, I get "Computer A: no route to host"
I put all the IP info for both computers in each computer's /etc/hosts file and when I run /sbin/ifconfig on both computers, the info is almost the same.
What should I do to have Computer B be able to rlogin or ftp to Computer A?
Thanks for your feedback!

You need to post more information. We don't know any of the details of your ifconfig or host information to base an answer. One of the machines could have the subnet (netmask) different or an ip address outside the subnet range.

Also, consider using the secure shell rather then rlogin or telnet, if any of the computers has access to the internet.
