Hi
i hope someone can help i have a windows 2000 server as my PDC and a red hat 9 server as my gateway for internet access.
am using DHCP on the windows server so some windows client can get ping replies from the linux box while they are ping replies from the windows server for all clients.
it's my windows 98 and some Win2k clients who get no ping replies from the linux box so no net access.so wat is the problem is the windows client configuration or the linux box.
i don't think it is the clients there are clients who work fine without any problems might be the iptables coz it is only my win 98 and some win 2k clients who get request timed out. and if it is the clients wat configuration can i use coz renew of the leases still gives me nothing.
The fact that some clients work points out that it is likely to be the clients. Can you post the output of this on the server:
ifconfig
route -n
iptables -L
And this on one working and one not working win2k machine:
ipconfig /all
route print
