No Internet access until I reboot...

sometimes as many as 3 or 4 reboots is necessary to get access to the WWW. From a cold boot its a fifty-fifty proposition whether my internet will work. Almost always I will have to reboot at least once before it allows me on to the web. I'm running SuSE 9 Pro, (SuSE's built-in firewall, and virus program (from BitDefender)...any ideas where to start?

This just started about two weeks ago...I havent added any programs, what switch could I have tripped to cause this? Please advise and thanks for your reply.

When you cannot get on the internet have you ever run /sbin/ifconfig ? This will tell you if you have an IP address. When it happens try to ping a website like google.com and then ping the IP address (216.239.37.99). If you can ping the IP but not the host name then there could be something wrong with your DNS settings.
Something else to try is to disable your firewall when it won't work and then try to get on the net.
