Unhappy No free leases error with SolusVM, can I disable logging it?

I get a no lease error over and over on a SolusVM slave server.

dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:25:90:cd:xx:xx via viifbr0: network no free leases

My dhcpd file has the network information:

# Written by SolusVM - 2018-11-29 03:54:10

subnet netmask {
default-lease-time 21600000;
max-lease-time 432000000;
ddns-update-style ad-hoc;

And everything is working o.k.. I was wondering if I missing something to cause the error or I can just disable logging it to my messages file?

It writes the error out every 30 seconds or so which is a ton of wasted IO activity.

Your VM runs a DHCP server that has already allocated all its 254 leases (that is, IP addresses). Now device number 255 comes along and wants a lease as well. Thus the error.

If it's the proliferation of log messages that bothers you, perhaps the DHCP server can be configured to log fewer messages, but that carries the obvious risk that you might not be informed about important problems.

If it's the depletion of leases that worries you, you can review which devices received leases from that server. On my server, leases are recorded in /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases.

dhcpd, dhcpdconf
