nm-applet and 5Ghz Wifi connections

Hi, I've being trying to configure my wifi usb key under Slackware 14.1.

I'm using network-manager and nm-applet.

Funny thing is that in the iwlist, the connections of 5 Ghz are visible, but not in the nm-applet.

Any idea?

I switched my modem back to 2.4 Ghz (not dual, only one active always) and could connect immediately to the modem.

Thank you for your help.

How do you setup WiFi, through network-manager or iwxxxx tool?

I just start nm-applet and connect to my wifi using it. Normally it uses network-manager behind, doesn't it?

Ok, now I've understood. NetworkManager <> iwxxxxx.

Only NetworkManager version 1.0.2 supports 5 Ghz... http://news.softpedia.com/news/Lates...s-480270.shtml

I have Slackware 14.1 that still uses version 0.9.8.8...

Thanks for the tip.

If you want, you can upgrade to the new version. But it might be a little complicated.

Slackware 14.2 is almost out. Will wait a little bit. I had to come back to 2.4 anyway because of my son. His bedroom is too far so 5ghz doesn't go there and my current router doesn't is not able to do dual band at the same time.
