NIS users can't change own password

Hi ,

Im using Redhat EL 6,when nis user try to change own password with their account in both server and client "Its saying you cannot reuse the old password".

when login as root user in both client and server system , able to change the nis user password without any issues.

i checked in NIS server yppasswdd is running and able to get the result for ypmatch nisuser passwd.

Im using /etc/passwd file for building the NIS datbase.

NOTE: i disabled firewall and selinux.

Kindly help me to solve the issue.

There is no issue to solve. Changing your password means PICKING A NEW ONE...it's telling the user they can't use a password they've used before. Root can do whatever it wants.

So, if a user wants to change their password, they have to pick a DIFFERENT password. What happens if they do that? And what does Red Hat support say? You are using RHEL...which means you're paying for support, right?
